Diet after gastric bypass

Is there a certain diet that I must eat after gastric bypass surgery?

There is no special diet-the only people who recommend a special diet are the dieticians who want to make money out of you with a bogus consult. What you need is a common sense approach. Because your stomach has been narrowed, you need to eat small quantities of food and in frequent amounts. You can eat anything in moderation and liquid diet is preferred in the initial few weeks. After the liquid diet you will progress to pureed foods, and then to soft solid foods. There is ample information on the web about these diets and you really do not need to waste money on a dietician.
As a caution, all people who undergo gastric bypass surgery should avoid tought meat products, stringy vegetables, sodas, bread, nuts and dried fruit. These foods can get stuck in the stomach or bowel.
The common sense approach is go slow with fluids and advance very slowly as tolerated.
